Bison Fundamentals Educational Class

November 25, 2016

FREE educational event held at Central Livestock Sales Barn; Albany, MN from 2 to 4 pm. (just off of Interstate 94 west of St. Cloud at exit 147/Albany and go to 34412 County Road 10)

Members of the Minnesota Buffalo Association, led by their President Dale Rengstorf, will present diverse details, different features and "lessons learned" of raising and marketing magnificent bison.

The class is designed for those considering raising bison. Come learn and connect with those who will be passing forward the knowledge they have gained over their years of raising and marketing bison.

Bountiful Banquet

Social begins at 5 pm and dinner begins at 6:30 pm, Friday November 25th bison enthusiasts shall gather at Paul’s Par-A-Dice (451 Railroad Avenue; Albany, MN) for a tasty buffet, judges’ award presentations and a whole lot of laughter!

Advanced reservations are required by November 14th and can be made on-line here  or by contacting the Association office info@mnbison.org or 507-454-2828].


Consignors do NOT have to be members of the association. After spending some time with this bunch of characters we are pretty certain you're gonna wanta
Non-member convenience fee: $60

Host hotel: Baymont Inn and Suites: 320-845-2145. Make reservations early as the hotel fills quickly. Made by November 4th and mentioning MN Buffalo Association guests will enjoy the reduced rate of $70 + tax per room. Room rate includes continental breakfast.

Friday, November 25th

Consigned animals will arrive; Bison Fundamentals, a free educational class, led by our president Dale Rengstorf, will begin at 2pm and our Awards Banquet dinner begins at 6:30 pm (Social begins at 5 pm) . Saturday, November 26th

The auction begins at 10am sharp. Called by Bradeen Auctions. The breeding stock judged consignments will be sold first followed by the non-judged consignments.

 The classes offered at the 2016 sale include:

      • Heifer Calves • Bull Calves

  • Pen of 3 Heifer Calves (Judged only)
  • Starter Herd Heifer Calves (These will be sold in groups that the consignor creates and will not be split.)
  • Yearling Bulls
  • Yearling Heifers
  • Starter Herd Yearling Heifers (These will be sold in groups that the consignor creates and will not be split.)
  • Two-Year-Old Bulls
  • Two-Year-Old Heifers (Bred for judged portion; Bred or Open for non-judged segment)
  • Mature Cows (Non-Judged Only)

Celebrating our 20th Anniversary all Consignors will receive a Commemorative Hat.

Consign and deliver 5 or more animals and also receive one free banquet ticket.

Consign and deliver 10 or more animals and in addition to the hat, consignor will receive an eye-catching Commemorative Winter Jacket.

24th Annual MnBA Educational Conference

March 31, 2017 – April 2, 2017

The 24th MnBA Conference is being hosted by MnBA's Vice President Bob Spaeth, his wife Diane and their family.

It will be held at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN and certain to be filed with great education, friendship and a whole lot of laughter.
