Auction Bountiful Banquet

November 24, 2017

Social begins at 5 pm and dinner begins at 6:30 pm, Friday November 24th bison enthusiasts shall gather at Shady’s Hometown Tavern (451 Railroad Avenue; Albany, MN) for a tasty buffet, judges’ award presentations and a whole lot of laughter!

Advanced reservations are required by November 13th and can be made on-line here  or by contacting the Association office info@mnbison.org or 507-454-2828.

2017 Legends of the Fall Bison Auction

November 24, 2017 – November 25, 2017

Consignors do NOT have to be members of the association. After spending some time with this bunch of characters we are pretty certain you're gonna wanta!

Non-member convenience fee: $60

Host hotel: Baymont Inn and Suites: 320-845-2145. Make reservations early as the hotel fills quickly. Made by November 9th and mentioning MN Buffalo Association guests will enjoy the reduced rate of $69 + tax per room. Room rate includes continental breakfast.

Friday, November 24th

Consigned animals will arrive; Bison Fundamentals, a free educational class, led by our president Dale Rengstorf, will begin at 1:30pm and our Awards Banquet dinner begins at 6:30 pm (Social begins at 5 pm) . Saturday, November 25th

The auction begins at 10am sharp. Called by Bradeen Auctions. The breeding stock judged consignments will be sold first followed by the non-judged consignments.

 The classes offered at the 2017 sale include:

  • Heifer Calves • Bull Calves
  • Producers Pride Heifer Calves and Producers Pride Yearling Heifers [3-5 animals per group. Groups will be sold as such and will not be split. (Judged only)]
  • Yearling Bulls
  • Yearling Heifers
  • Two-Year-Old Bulls
  • Two-Year-Old Heifers (Bred for judged portion; Bred or Open for non-judged segment)
  • Mature Cows (Non-Judged Only)

Bison Fundamentals - Raising our National Mammal

November 24, 2017

FREE educational event held at Central Livestock Sales Barn; Albany, MN Friday, November 24, 2017 from 1:30 to 4pm. (just off Interstate 94 at exit 147 – 34412 County Road 10 - west of St. Cloud, MN)

The class is designed for those considering raising bison. Come learn and connect with those who will be passing forward the knowledge they have gained over their years of raising and marketing bison.

Though walk-ins are most welcome, to guarantee receiving an educational packet make reservation by notifying the Association's office at info@mnbison.org or call 507-454-2828 with name and the number of individuals attending.

Members of the Minnesota Buffalo Association, led by President Dale Rengstorf, will present diverse details, different features and "lessons learned" of raising and marketing magnificent bison.

Those participating are encouraged to make reservations for the evening's Bountiful Banquet to continue their education. Make reservations by printing the below "Entry consignment form" or utilize the on-line version clicking here.

2017 Legends of the Fall Consignments

November 25, 2017

While numbers may vary in the coming days as consignors send in their final forms, at consignment deadline last evening the numbers are:

Heifer Calves: 52
Yearling Heifers: 12
2-Year-Old Heifers: 8
Mature Cows: 9

Bull Calves: 15
Yearling Bulls: 21
2-Year-Old Bulls: 4

Total consigned animals to date = 121

The Bison Trek Annual Educational Conference

April 20, 2018 – April 22, 2018

The 25th Anniversary MnBA Educational Conference will be held in Watertown, South Dakota. The Kevin and Joan Stormo family, of Tatanka Hills located in Lake Norden, SD, will be our hosts for this sure to be first-rate event.
